Travel to Nagaland, a remote area of northeast India and watch the competitors train to become Aki Kiti fighters – vicious martial artists whose weapons are the soles of your feet.

Mongolia
The men get put to the test, living as Mongolian nomads and taking part in a local Nadaam competition, the greatest of all Mongolian sporting and cultural events.

Trobriand Islands
Voyage to the island of Kiriwina during the heart of the Mila Mala, the local harvest festival, as the athletes play in a tribal 'cricket' match between two rival villages.

Senegal
Join the athletes as they take on the locals in Senegalese wrestling. Only two men will compete, but they must first avoid serious injury – something easier said than done.

Papua New Guinea
Meet the Sepik – a jungle tribe of Papua New Guinea – then, watch the men compete in their biggest canoe race of the year. To succeed, they must to learn to sleep in snake-ridden shelters and survive crocodile-infested waters.

Kraho
Travel to central Brazil as the athletes take part in the unusual sport of log racing. As part of a ceremony called the Witi, the teams of runners compete to carry a log to the sacred center.

Peru
Visit one of the world's highest communities – the village of Paqchanta and watch the athletes take part in the Qoyllur Rit'i festival – a local race to cut a block of ice from a glacier at over 17,000 feet.

Java
Discover the rural Indonesian village of Cikaramat, in West Java, as the athletes learn the tribes' local sport of Pencak Silat – a raw and deadly form of combat.

Vanuatu
Join the athletes on a tiny island in Vanuatu as they face their toughest endurance task, a seaborne canoe race between islands that pits them against battling trade winds, storms, sharks, high waves and fierce locals.
