Dirty Jobs: Toughest Jobs DVD

SKU ID #366994
In a totally unscripted format, DIRTY JOBS is a gauntlet of danger, fear, and humiliation, steadfastly endured by our intrepid host. Rowe assumes the duties of the job in question and works alongside Sewer Inspector, Zoo Poop Picker Uppers, Road Kill Collectors, Chinatown Garbage collector, Pig farmer... Average folks doing extraordinary work that simply must get done. Rowe is a tremendously good sport, and a perfect conduit between worker and viewer. His interactions are both earnest and ironic, and the results are enlightening, horrifying, hilarious, and very, very, real. In the end, viewers are left with an appreciation for hard working people, and a better understanding of what it takes to tackle tough jobs. No one will watch these segments and say, "That's a job I'd like to try," but everyone will be glad that somebody else is doing them.

5 Episodes: The Dirty Truth, Dirty Conversation, Dirty DNA, Dirty Infrastructure, Dirty Holidays

      Comments about this product:

I teach at an alternative high school and for a video to be loved by "my kids" means it's indeed very good. Mike Rowe is simply one of THE best narrators on the planet and combine that with him sharing some fascinating things he's learned after 5 years on Dirty Jobs, makes this video great. It is NOT a bunch of Dirty Job episodes, rather it includes 4 regular & one bounus videos where Mike talks about various things. For example "The Dirt Truth" we watched today, is Mike giving his down to earth views on work, and what exactly it takes to succeed in the world. So well done. I have not watched the other episodes, but I'm hopeful they will be just as good as the first. $ well spent.
