Meade® Color Filter Set #1

The Meade Color Filter Set #1 is a four-piece group that includes filters in yellow, light red, green and blue. The filters add a new dynamic that alters the light transmission and enhances the visual experience. The filter telescope accessories can be stacked or piggybacked, and thread into the barrels of the Meade 1.25" eyepieces.

The Meade Color Filter Set #1 lets you make the most out of your astronomical observations and photography with a set of four color filters that enhance surface details, increase contrast and highlight even the subtlest planetary features. Using the correct filter, for example, can mean the difference between seeing and not seeing small craterlets on the Moon or seeing six festoons on Jupiter versus two.

• #12 Yellow Filter – 74% light transmission: Enhances red-orange features on Jupiter, Saturn and Mars
• #23A Light Red Filter – 25% light transmission: Enhances detail of the polar regions and cloud belts of Jupiter and Saturn
• #58 Green Filter – 24% light transmission: Strongly increases contrast of Mars' polar ice caps and Venus' atmospheric phenomena
• #80A Blue Filter – 30% light transmission: Brings out detail in Saturn's belts and Jupiter's Red Spot

The telescope filters, from Meade Series 4000 Color Filter Set #1, measure 26mm in clear aperture and are manufactured from the purest crown optical glass, dyed-in-the-mass (not "color coated"). Each filter is anti-reflection coated on both sides and is mounted in a machined aluminum cell with the written number of the filter marked on the side of the cell. The telescope accessories, Meade Color Filter Set #1, may be piggybacked – or stacked – to achieve selective filtration of the visual color spectrum. For visual applications, Series 4000 Filters thread into the barrels of all Meade 1.25" eyepieces. Each filter is packed in a foam-fitted plastic case for secure long-term storage.
