As a member of the Saturn V Launch team at KSC and the Apollo Space Suit Support Team at JSC and KSC I can vouch for the accuracy and authenticity of these videos, particularly those of the the Saturn V and Space Suit. This series should be included in every Americas Space Program history buff's library.

After seeing episodes on TV, ordered it and excitedly played "The Navigation Computer" being that was what I worked on. I was very disappointed. Though designed by MIT, and with all credit due them, they did not build one piece of flight equipment. And a more accurate episode title would be "The Navigation System" as this is what is pictured. However, the thousands of people at AC Electronics, Sperry, Raytheon, Kohlsman Instruments and many subcontractors were never mentioned. The script writers did inadequate research and/or acknowledgement of all those who are proud to say "I helped make it happen."

This series is a must see for those who think NASA is a waste of money. The Apollo program is probably one of the best investments our country has ever made. The spinoffs of the Apollo program from computers, materials, medicine, rocketry, communications, as well as others are immense.

Students would benefit from seeing what can be accomplished with math, science and other subjects. Apollo has fired the imaginations of many and should continue to do so.

                  Comments about this product:

Just how it was possible, with 1960's technology, to fly to another world in space is a topic that few comprehend some forty years after the fact. This DVD shows how it was done and who (other than the big names of the space program)made it happen. Beautiful, factual account of the men who created the technologies we take for granted and clear, thorough, account of the fantastic machines they built and how they work. I know it is true and accurate. I was there to see it happen.

My father worked 41 years at Grumman Aerospace Corp and specifically on the Lunar Module. He took a great deal of pride in the company's accomplishments for good reason. The segment on his company as well as all the rest are a fantastic tribute to the people who made these historic events occur. This can be a great learning tool for educators as well as inspiring others today.

This is a really well-done behind-the-scenes documentary. The choice of material was excellent, script was well-written, interviews, narration, and video-production all well done.

One think I like about it is that it answers some of the (nonsense) complaints of the moonlanding-conspiracy theorists, without even attempting to do so, just by plainly, simply, and clearly telling us how we did it. For example, "no way we could have gone to the moon with such crude computers of the day," they say? Well, this series explains that very clearly.

I would highly recommend this to all space enthusiests. More than well worth the investment. Thanks!!!!

I work at NASA and believe me, our public relations office is a disaster. NASA should just hand over the keys to its film archive to The Discovery Channel and let them create dozen's of films and documentaries at will. This series just scratches the surface of what amazing technology feats were achieved for Apollo, yet is the one and only attempt I've seen that goes into any detail and makes you begin to fully appreciate the extreme dangers and difficulties involved in manned space flight. All new footage never before seen, to my knowledge. Yet, shown is only a fraction of a percent of what was filmed and recorded. This should be required viewing for all students before the 10th grade. I also realized, that for a relatively paltry budget of $13B in 2009, we're a fraction of social security, DOE, DOD, HHS... the list goes on. Yet NASA is one of the only agencies that actually produces real and tangible contributions to our society and to the world.
