The media center at my school purchased this for the "Baseball Myths" episode as part of "Baseball Week" at our school. My students were engaged throughout as they analyzed the steps of the scientific method for two of the five myths tested. Students were able to identify the problem, form their own hypothesis, identify the independent, dependent, and controlled variables (constants). They also were able to describe the experimental set-up, conclusion, and evaluate their hypotheses.

The series is absolutely wonderful! It has been great to be able to sit down with my family and watch it from beginning to end over the last few weeks. And Discovery has been very helpful as well; There was an error reading the first disk and they hurridly shipped me the one that was damaged. The product description says that Season 5 includes Viewer Special 2, even the back of the DVD case says it is included, but when you go through every single disc, it's missing. I contacted Discovery about the issue. They did send me a new set, but it has the same issue as the first set I received. I think someone needs to take some time to make sure everything they say is included is actually included.
