Nature's Fire Color-Changing Volcano

I bought this for my nephew who was turning 13. He has Autism, loves rainbows and things that changes colors. Had bought so that he might have an interest of something that is all natural and would like to learn about it. He loved it coming out of the box, but just now sure how he has or has not "played" with it.
Was just trying to find something cool for a 13 yr old boy---that didn't matter if he did or did not have special needs that he would be into.

Bought it for a friend for his 59th birthday. He has been injured and spends a lot of time in his room. Everyone who comes to visit wants to know where he got it. He says it is so soothing to watch. There will probably be a sell out soon!

Interesting item for an older teen who doesn't play with toys any longer but still enjoys and can appreciate the marvels of how Mother Nature works.

My daughter loves the volcano lamp..she puts it on every night at bedtime...it's really fun to watch! It is a bit loud..but my daughter says it's a "relaxing" sound to her! Overall, quite happy with the purchase!

The boys I gave this to were 7 years and 3years...

I had it sent to their mother.. She had to call me because their were not instructions with it.

I had to call me son who is 20 now and ask what needed to be put in it. Water or what?

He really loved his and it lasted about 1 year.

I purchased this as a gift for my 12 year old niece for christmas. She loved it. She thought it was "very cool". There were also small children there and they were entranced by it. I think it is a neat gift for all ages. I even found myself entertained by it. When I first got it out of the box I was disapointed, it was very plain, but after you add the water and beads it transforms into a beautiful center piece. Overall very pleased!

i've had this volcano for going on 2 yrs. has worked every single time i turn it on, no problems whatsoever with it!!! Everyone loves watching it... i do use the adapter with mine! It's very colorful, can't see why some are having so many problems???? Would recommend this to all ages actually!!! Plug it up, watch and enjoy!!

My 5 year old son just loves volcanoes so this was a big hit with him. It's easy to use and he just loves watching the beads shoot out of the volcano like lava. The lights are also hit when he turns it on at bed time. It's a little noisy, but that hasn't stopped my kids from falling asleep with it on.

I am 42 years old and I am a real life scientist person and this volcano was a fun present I got and it was on my nightstand but it stopped working within two days even though I followed all the directions just like everyone else has done and I was going to buy a replacement but now I will just end up throwing it away and wasting money which is not a good thing to do in the current economy. At least I had a Lego motorized walking AT-AT to put together instead.

This was a Christmas gift to my daughter from her Grandmother. We followed the instructions and the volcano erupted for the first day and then stopped. It simply doesn't work.
That the Discovery Channel would offer such junk is definitely a black mark on it's credibility.

Worked great at first, then after only a few uses, the motor quit, and it stopped spewing "fire," i.e., the red plastic balls. Very disappointing. Cannot recommend buying it. I just hate to get ripped off by poor quality merchandises(ers). I expect more, much more, from The Discovery Store. Based on the number of similar reviews I've read, this is an all-too-typical problem with this unit, and The Discovery Store should therefore either repair or replace failed units.

My Mom bought this for me for X-mas (along with Life DVD and an Ant Farm) and I love them all! The volcano is on my desk in my room and I turn it on when I'm in there doing homework or playing. I could look at it 24/7! Thanks for a great product!

Bought this for kids at Christmas. It quit erupting with in the first 5 minutes. Only the light shines. Junk!

DO NOT PURCHASE!!! My son received this for Christmas. It worked great for the first day, then it stopped "erupting". We tried changing the batteries, turning it upside down and emptying & refilling it. Nothing worked. [...] I wish that Grandma read these reviews before purchasing. Shame on you Discovery Kids!

Received as gift. Great to watch while it worked, unfortunately didn't work very long. Contacted Discovery and received replacement however the replacement stopped working soon after i received it too. Would not recommend this one at all.

BEWARE!! This product looks fun but does not perform. My son recieved it as a gift last year. It worked for a few days then stopped working. The motor is underpowered and wears out. I contacted the manufacturer for this product and they would not replace it. [...]. My son was very disappointed and so was I.
