I absolutely love Survivorman (Les Stroud). I have just about every episode on my DVR and can't wait to get the 3 Seasons on DVD (My wife is getting it for me for my B-Day). I REALLY WISH LES WOULD MAKE MORE EPISODES! His unique way of filming allows you to feel like you are there with him and invites you along with his struggles and accomplishments. An honest dream of mine was to be able to tag along with him just once to be able to experience it with him. I think he has a lot of useful knowledge that can be used in an emergency of your own. Well worth the purchase I feel!

Les Stroud is very informative in this show, and does his level best to recreate actual situations in which everyday people find themselves. I like to watch Man Vs. Wild also, and he is entertaining, but his is not the approach to take in real survival situations (unless you happen to be a former special forces guy). Les is the real deal, and tries to show what ordinary people should do in extraordinary situations. I wish he was still making new episodes.
